| 09/13/2007 | Does anyone remember the exciting Field trip to Houston on May of 82. Does anyone remember Coach Villegas and Mrs. Rivera. Does anyone remember Mr. Rosenbloom? Good memories. | Mike Sallinas lvc213@hotmail.com Raymondville Teacher |
| 10/03/2007 | My name is Ruben Benitez Jr. I started school in 1983 and finished in 1993. I have alot of memories of our school and I just don't know where to begin. Our school is very special, community, students, teachers and administrators, school board members. Memories of this school are special they stay within our hearts. Memories that I have are of my teachers, teachers that care, work hard with students. Yes, I was a student that had some trouble with some subjects but they were there with me until I learned that hard work pays off. I thank them for what they did for my brother and me and other students in the school district. THANK YOU AND MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL FOR A WONDERFUL JOB "ONCE A LION ALWAYS A LION." | Ruben Benitez Jr cowboys75@gmail.com Lasara ISD Maintenance |
| 10/30/2007 | I remember having the morning flag raising ceremonies in front of the school. I remember being in Kinder and having two of the greatest teachers ever Mrs. Aparicio and Mrs. Cantu, which was back in 1986-87. I remember our assembly also had a dedication to the 7 astronauts that died on 01-28-86. I was picked to be Christa McAuliffe the first teacher in space. I remember it all and if I'm not mistaken I still have the video. We wore the astronaut suits and helmet, it was great. I also remember my Kinder and Junior High Graduation Ceremonies, I have wonderful memories to look back at and I'm thankful for all the great teachers. If we haven't done it yet, we should have all Lasara students and graduates of all ages come back for a reunion. Might be a great idea. | Jovana Gonzales jovana.gonzales@yahoo.com Lyford CISD College Student/Child Care Provider (Pre-School) |
| 11/05/2007 | My mom taught at LaSara when I was a little girl back in the 1960's. Lorfing was the superintendent then and we lived across the street from the school. I thought it was the most beautiful campus. (Lorfing was a horticulturist and he used it as his 'plant playground'.) |

| 11/09/2007 | I completed 8th grade in 1990. I recall walking to school and arriving tardy even though I lived 1 1/2 blocks away from the school. Some things never change. And also, for those others who also recall along with me, "The Buckadudes" and "Bella hunting". I think what I recall most that continues to be a tradition are the Flag Raising ceremonies. There have been many changes and memories of old time spent and now the current students are creating many wonderful memories of their own. I would hope my child would get that opportunity one day too. |

| 12/10/2007 | Some of my fondest memories include playing volleyball and basketball in Jr. High. If I remember correctly, there were some district championships to be very proud of! Every teacher impacted my life. One that stands out was my 4th and 5th gr. teacher, Mrs. Miko. Looking back now, I feel she was absolutely extraordinary! | Cristina Telles tellescristina@yahoo.com La Joya Teacher |
| 12/13/2007 | I attended Lasara in the 60's. I remember Mr. Lorfing. He would take us on "field trips" on campus to pick up trash, plant flowers. It was always fun. I also remember Mrs. Dicus. I had her as a teacher twice, once in third grade, then again in jr. high. I'v lost touch with most of my school mates from Lasara. Hope all are doing well. | Cheryl Imel farmersdaughter78594@yahoo.com Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show, Mercedes, TX Secretary |

| 02/11/2008 | I graduated from La Sara School back in 1986...long ago! I vividly recall failing the 5th grade because I couldn't understand division. I also fondly recall a teacher who took the time to explain it detail by detail until I got it! I will always regard Mr. Rene Reyes as a caring, understanding and patient teacher. Now that I work with children, I treat them with the same regard Mr. Reyes impressed on me. Our Agency Motto is: What We Do Today Affects Generations To Come. Thank you Mr. Reyes! | Maria C. | 10/10/2008 | I graduated from LaSara Middle School in 1994. I was involved in many things while at LaSara ISD. Some of my most vivid memories while attending would be (in no particular order) Playing 'TAPS' during a flag raising ceremony, placing 1st in all of my UIL events (has to be a record...sometimes I was put in an event last minute.) and my teachers...Mr. Reyes, Mr. Quintanilla, Mrs. Barragan, Mrs. Cantu, Mrs. Apparicio,Mrs. Miko, Mrs. Esparza, Mrs. Castaneda...the list goes on. I can tell you that all of my teachers have impacted my life in one way or another. | 02/25/2009 | I have a lot of memories from Lasara ISD. The one memory I will never forget and I often tell my children is when I actually caught the ball at one of our softball games. Mr. Buchanan was our coach. I was so excited I had caught the ball that I forgot to bring in. The other team won because of my mistake...but I was so proud I had caught the ball. (I was afraid of it). The instructors I remember are, Mr Gonzales,(history),Ms. Garcia(science), Mr Buchanan, Ms. Esparza, I can't remember my math teacher's name.. Does anyone remember him? I attended back in 1987. | Susan Villalobos aspolina0405@sbcglobal.net Houston, TX Director of Financial Aid |

| 07/24/2009 | I GRADUATED FROM L.I.S.D IN 1990 THOSE WERE THE GREATEST DAYS. THE ONE TEACHER I ADMIRED AND LOOKED UP TO WAS MRS. SUSAN CHANEY. SHE WAS MY 4TH GRADE TEACHER. SHE WAS SO KIND AND HELPFUL AND ALWAYS WILLING TO LEND AN EAR. I THANK HER FOR BELIEVING IN ME. IT IS BECAUSE OF TEACHERS LIKE HER THAT MOST OF US HAVE THE CAREERS WE HAVE NOW. |

| 08/18/2009 | Lasara ISD has always been the most innovative in implementing their educational directives. These methods are now seen as the "in" and most effective methods of teaching. We were never "left behind". Hey fellow Lions who graduated in 1974, would you like to have a reunion? Yoli Cortez and I would like to know. Cheryl Imel, Sandra was in my grade. |
